Up for sale is a set of plastic knights produced in the 60’s or 70’s by Transogram, a major U. The “Knights Adventure Set” is complete inside its original display window box. Transogram figures are not rare, but to find a complete set in mint condition and in its original display packaging is rare indeed. And this packaging displays beautifully. The set of 8 soft plastic knights, 2 of each color, are mint. I don’t believe they were ever removed from their cardboard display stand inside the window box. The tray was slid out of the box for clear photos of the figures, and carefully slid back inside. The figures are not fastened with elastic or wires, they were placed in their tray and the bases were attached below the cardboard so that the figures stand upright and don’t move inside the box. It is no wonder they remain in perfect condition after all these years. The packaging is amazing — bright, colorful and completely capturing the excitement of the golden age of plastic toy soldiers. The window box displays beautifully, revealing the art work of the backdrop behind the figures as well as the colorful knights themselves. The figures are clones of the more numerous Timpo swoppet knights, and while Transogram was a U. Company, the figures were manufactured in Hong Kong. While Hong Kong copies are not always a good thing, many collectors feel that the Transogram figures improved on the originals — they have more parts and allow for better posing or movement. This is a rare opportunity to add a scarce and highly evocative boxed set to your figure display! This item is in the category “Toys & Hobbies\Toy Soldiers\1970-Now”.
